pick a flower, make a wish its the 1970's.

Who said vintage has to come with an expensive price tag? I bought an old nightgown at a charity shop and cut the sleeves to make a long bow on the front. I didn't know what I would end up with but the outcome was a success!

In terms of last minute shopping, Primark never ceases to disappoint me! This snake-skin bag caught my eye as I was in the queue, the gold locket created a vintage and timeless feel which is needed in my wardrobe. It is versatile due to its size, I could use it on a day out with the girls or date with the boy. But the surprise did not stop there.. the bag only cost £3! BARGAIN! there was no way that I was going to let that bag go!

It's MUST-HAVE time fellow fashion lovers! For any occasion,or whatever the reason, it is without doubt that  you need a watch! Imagine running late for a class or work and your phone's out of juice and you need the time. A watch is a timeless accessory which any human being needs, but what a fashionista needs is a gold, vintage watch.

I like to have a variety of handbags, whether it's a colour or a different shape am always keeping an eye out for the unconventional. I visited my brother in Birmingham and a friend took me to an outlet store. We saw this flower print vintage bag for only £3! Another successful bargain on my part, but in order to test your true skills go out with only £15 pounds in your pocket and see what you come up with, I will be posting the £15 challenge soon on LaRoseDesVent so stay tuned to see what I came up with ...

Necklaces are traditionally worn on the neck, but if you think outside the box you may also get away with a head piece as well. I had an old necklace which I stopped wearing a while ago, but I didn't wanna throw it away so I began to play with it and I ended up ripping some of the gems out leaving a gold round piece. To polish it I then added clear nail polish and tightened it with a safety pin which I hide behind my hair.

Screaming whispers into my ear

If you thought dark purple lippy was a challenge then you're in for ride, black lipstick has only been worn by the divas of our time such as Grace Jones, but with a sharp contour and a soft smokey eye anyone can pull it off. You just need the  perfect attitude and styling to go with it. I buy my contour from Sleek, ( from any Superdrug store)  as you soon as you put it on you notice the difference as your face becomes refined and structured. It is affordable and officially in the MUST-HAVE list. Although though one rule when strutting the black lipstick,  do not let it overcome your face and your outfit otherwise the term "women in black" will become a literal meaning.

The bargains you can find at a charity shop never ceases to amaze me, a few weeks ago I visited Nottingham with a friend to see what it had to offer and I came a across this Fresh Prince of Bel-Air jacket which took me back to the good old days. it had a vintage hip=hop feel about it which appealed me. Bright colours and shapes which I accessorised  with showstopping tights and boots.

It is never too late to reminisce the 90's hip hop era,I tend to use the trend by adding a little femininity too it. Still rock the blazers, but who says a dress cannot be its partner in crime? add a little beanie hat and accessorise with rings and bracelets, or if you wanna go real old school add a rope chain.

Lie beneath the moon and tell me you love me

The Bohemian trend has never been easy to rock, especially with the British weather controlling the way we style our outfits. However there are some key pieces which you are able to wear throughout the seasons, it is guaranteed that from winter to summer you could be looking bohemian chic. And once again without dipping into an overdraft.
It is always important to find yourself when finding an outfit, you need to be comfortable on the inside as well as on the outside.  So I took the bohemian style to a whole new level by creating a modern look which reflects my personality.

 The Turban
Head accessories have always been one of my favourites, whether it is for  a bad hair day and I wrap a scarf around my head or a top hat to add a vintage flare; a head accessory is always needed. The turban is a classic accessory which has been worn by women for generations, but nowadays much less. Despite its versatility fashionistas prefer to flaunt it on a holiday by the pool, but
ladies this must stop now! The turban is officially added to the MUST-HAVE list, it varies in colours and sizes and also emphasises on the make-up you normally spend hours on! I tend to go for a smokey-eye, red lip and conture to add more definition to the turban and my face.

Chunky Chunk

Chunky accessories are also another way of  exploring your Bohemian roots. Shapes and colours vary also from the beginning to the end of the spectrum, therefore you have a variety of pieces to choose from. I chose this green and blue colour block necklace which blends not only superbly with black garments but white also. Depending on the occasion and the choice of outfit.

The black triangle earrings is also a beautiful accessory; its bold and big features will make any outfit stand out without doubt. Whether it is a casual look with skinny jeans or a LBD, but one rule you must not forget fellow fashionistas  'more is less' ladies so edit your outfits. Remember you wanna be looked at ...not talked about.

 Fashion for Freedom
Fashion creates statements as well as trends,so next time you pop to the high streets look for the small Fairtrade boutiques which sell these Bohemian friendship bracelets which you and your friend can rock out together. That way you'll be looking fabulous without a guilty conscious.

sshh. There's a kitten in the jungle

This photo-shoot was based on a darker pallet where I was able to become creative and versatile within my own right. For the first time, I based my look on the make-up and created a mysterious yet romantic set. I was getting bored of using the simple pink and sassy red lippy and decided to go for chic Gothic look. I know trying darker colours for the first time is not easy, but in order to develop as fashionisatas we must try new things and explore the unknown otherwise we risk repeating fashion trends.

A must-have for spring is an oversize red bag. This piece is perfect when you feel an outfit isn't standing out or you need an accessory which will turn heads. A red bag never ceases to disappoint. It is very a versatile and therefore can complement any outfit.
Also on the must-have list is the emerald green necklace which I cannot get enough of! It has a timeless feel and adds sophistication. the vintage accessory goes extremely well with a white top.

Shorts can never come out of the viscous circle of fashion, whether it is winter and we rock them with some tights or summer with our legs out we always find a way of accessorizing our denim. Big boots such as Timberlands or from ASOS complement well with denim shorts as they mix femininity and masculinity together.
